The website
If you use the contact form, we keep your name, email, the club you mention and your message, only so we can reply. We don't use cookies for tracking or advertising on this website.
WindTee Golf (the app for golfers)
Your saved courses, settings and the holes you map stay on your phone. If you link a booking system such as BRS, your password is stored encrypted on your phone and only ever sent to that booking system; the app reads your bookings and never books or changes anything. If you use "courses near me", your approximate location is used on your phone to find nearby courses.
WindTee for Clubs
Members' app. Members don't give a name, email or phone number. Each phone joins the club with an anonymous, random identifier so we can show the club how the app is used (for example, how many phones joined and opened it this week). If a member turns on alerts, their phone's notification address is stored so the club's alerts can reach it. Turning alerts off in the phone's settings stops them.
Club staff. Staff who use the staff hub sign in with their email address, which the club adds to its staff list.
Clubhouse screens. If a club links its BRS tee sheet, the screen shows today's tee times so it can call groups to the 1st tee; the club chooses whether names or just group sizes are shown. Competition results come from the club's Master Scoreboard. The club's logins for these systems are set by the club, can't be read back by anyone, and are only used by the club's own paired screens to read (never change) its information.
The golf club decides what its screens and members' app show and is responsible for its members' information; WindTee provides the service to the club.
Where information is kept
Club and member app information is held in Google Firebase in the EU (Belgium). We don't sell information or share it with advertisers.
Weather and maps
Forecasts come from Open-Meteo, warnings from Met Éireann and the Met Office, radar from RainViewer, course layouts from OpenStreetMap and satellite imagery from Esri. Your course's location is sent to these services to get its weather and maps.
